About Puttgarden

Puttgarden on the German island of Fehmarn is a small village and is most well known for its ferry port and being Germany's gateway to Scandinavia. The Fehmarn Belt Strait in the western part of the Baltic Sea separates Germany and Denmark and is 18km wide.

If planning to a short stay in Puttgarden, you can find a small selection of hotels to choose from and there are a few restaurants too serving typical German dishes. Although all in all, it is a quiet location.

The architecture is charming and typical of the region with colourful houses on the harbour front and plenty of greenery and green spaces. Certainly you will not regret making a pit-stop in Puttgarden.
