Getting to Pomorie
If you are in or near Nessebar or Sozopol, Bulgarian Fast Ferry is by far the quickest way to reach Pomorie. You arrive on the doorstep of town with all amenities within walking distance.
If travelling by car, the main road E87 runs parallel with the coast allowing you to reach Pomorie conveniently from anywhere on the Eastern side of Bulgaria. From Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, the A1 road leads directly to Burgas, just south of Pomorie. It is however a 6 hour drive and much quicker to fly to Burgas airport if you are looking to stay on the coast.
Things to do in Pomorie
Pomorie Lake is said to have healing qualities, from the mud that lies beneath. This is best seen in summer particularly because there is a birdy sanctuary nearby which is also worth a visit. While popular with tourists, the lake is situated in a rural area with many local family run cafes, allowing you to experience authentic Bulgarian culture.
Due to the healing qualities of the mud, and the presence of natural mineral water Pomorie has long attracted people searching for spa treatments, which are available at most hotels in the area. There are many spas and wellness centres around the world, but can they lay claim to the natural healing benefits available in Pomorie?
The beach is one of Pomorie's greatest assets. Long and sandy, with little to no tide, it's perfect for relaxing, topping up your tan while getting stuck in to a good book. However, if relaxing is not your thing, there are watersports available in the sea.
