Cangas, in the Spanish province of Pontevedra, connects mainland Spain to the Cies Islands with Mar de Ons. Cangas ferries can be booked with AFerry.
See below for timetable information and for details on how to reach Cangas, and the port facilities you can expect to find when you get there.
Ferries to and from Cangas
Mar de Ons ships are built to the highest standard and have all amenities on board. Outside decks allow passengers to take in the breathtaking views of the islands and the Galician Coast. Inside the vessels, comfortable seating is available and there is an onboard café serving hot and cold refreshments and snacks.
Cangas, also known as Cangas do Morrazo, is a town in the muncipality of Galicia. It sits in a valley formed by the rivers Sella and Güeña.
The most iconic feature of Cangas is the Roman bridge which crosses the Sella river. The bridge has five arches, with a Victoria Cross hanging from the centre over the river.
Cangas port facilities
Facilities at Cangas are limited, as the port is mainly a harbour for private fishing boats and yachts. The centre of town is just a short walk away where you will find restuarants, shops and cash machines.
Getting to Cangas
Cangas is located on the West coast of Spain and is just 35km from central Pontevedra. It can be reached from Pontevedra using the AP-9 and Corredor do Morrazo/CG-4.1 roads, which do include tolls.
